WHY THE HOUSING SYSTEM

The housing system, a very integral part of Sena Bioresearch and Innovative Academy is very important and this is because it fosters a sense of community for each sector of life sciences, creates belonging, and promotes healthy competition amongst members of SBIA.

By grouping students into different houses, we have been able to create a smaller, more supportive network within the larger organization creating an easier and effective means for members as well as mentors of their respective fields of SBIA to connect, collaborate and motivate each other.

SANITAS PER SCIENTIAM

This is the Crimson House, the heart of SBIA’s life sciences community dedicated to exploring the marvels of human biology, medicine, genetics, and all things health-related. Crimson House is where future doctors, geneticists, medical researchers, and healthcare innovators come together to deepen their understanding of the human body and develop solutions that improve lives.

DUNE HOUSE

Fortitudo in Arido

Dune House explores life in harsh and extreme environments, including deserts and polluted ecosystems. Members investigate bioremediation techniques and adaptive biology, contributing to environmental restoration and sustainable management of fragile ecosystems.

JADE HOUSE

Vita Vegetabilis, Cura Animalium

Jade House nurtures expertise in agriculture, animal husbandry, and plant biology. Members work on improving crop yields, animal health, and sustainable farming practices, vital for food security and rural development in Ghana and beyond.

LILAC HOUSE

VERITAS ET VOX

Lilac House ensures that scientific research and biotechnology applications conform to legal and ethical standards. Members study bioscience policy, intellectual property rights, and bioethics, advocating for responsible innovation and regulatory compliance.

LOTUS HOUSE

Enterprise is the Power of Creation

Lotus House drives the transformation of scientific knowledge into viable businesses. Members focus on biotechnology startups, commercialization, and industrial applications of biosciences, fostering job creation and economic growth through innovation.

SAFFRON HOUSE

Alimento y Ciencia, Nutriendo el Futuro

Saffron House covers the entire spectrum of food biosciences—from production and safety to supply chain management. Members work on improving food quality, nutrition, and sustainable food systems to support public health and economic development.

VANTA HOUSE

Vanta House specializes in forensic biology and investigative sciences. Members apply biological techniques to criminal investigations, contributing to justice and public safety through expertise in DNA analysis, toxicology, and crime scene investigation.
